A vehicle pursuit yesterday ended in Prince William County with an arrest and multiple charges for the suspect.
On September 29 at 1:53 p.m., Deputy K.L. Warnick attempted to stop a vehicle on Interstate 95 as part of an investigation by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit. Deputy Warnick attempted a traffic stop at mile marker 148 on northbound I-95 on a Hyundai Sonata. The driver, identified as Schascle Alston, 28, of Fredericksburg, failed to stop the vehicle and continued on I-95. The pursuit continued as Alston exited I-95 at the Joplin Road exit. The pursuit ended when Alston stopped the vehicle in the 1800 block of Chestnut Drive in Triangle. Alston then exited the vehicle and fled on-foot before she was apprehended by Deputy Warnick. Cash and a controlled substance were found during a search of Alston’s vehicle.
It was later learned, when Alston fled from the vehicle it had struck a power truck which had the bucket extended in the air with an employee inside. The employee was not injured. The Prince William County Police Department assisted with the hit and run investigation.
Alston is charged with speed to elude, possession with intent to distribute schedule I/II, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, and obstruction of justice. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
