The Stafford Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as suspicious activity; however, there is no information at this time indicating that this was an attempted child abduction.

Yesterday, an 18-year-old female was walking her dog on Tamerlane Drive when a vehicle approached. The driver asked her if she would like to see the dog in the back of his vehicle. She continued walking and the vehicle followed for a short period of time, prompting her to call a family member. The vehicle then drove away. The driver has been identified and deputies determined there is no threat to the community.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Office by contacting our non-emergency number at (540) 658-4400.
