Sentara Healthcare has alerted the public to a scam involving in-home coronavirus testing. According to Sentara, a Virginia Beach resident notified them that someone called claiming to represent Sentara and offered a home visit for coronavirus testing. The scammer told the resident they may have been exposed to someone with coronavirus and asked to come to the resident’s home to conduct a test. After being notified about this scam, Sentara reported the incident to law enforcement and issued a news release advising that the scammer had no association with Sentara and that no one from Sentara will call and ask to come to a residence to conduct a coronavirus test. We would like to remind the community to report any suspicious calls or activity to the Sheriff’s Office at (540) 658-4400. |
