Stafford Sheriff’s Office Searching for Purse Thief

Stafford, VA. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who stole a purse from a shopping cart in the parking lot of the Stafford Marketplace Target.

On February 6, 2020, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Deputy Gildea responded to the Target located at 1090 Stafford Market Place for reports of a stolen purse. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim who advised that she accidentally left her purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot. She realized her mistake about 15 minutes later and returned to the store to retrieve the purse, but it was gone.

Video surveillance footage revealed that a man wearing an orange shirt took the purse from the cart at approximately 9:23 a.m. He then left the area in an older model red Chevrolet pick-up truck.
