Juvenile Suspect Apprehended for Brandishing a Stolen Firearm

Stafford VA. A juvenile suspect was apprehended early Thursday morning by units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after he stole a firearm and pointed it at a juvenile female subject.

On August 7, 2019, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Deputy Justin Forman was responding to an incident in the southern end of the county when he was approached by a juvenile female subject who told him that earlier that day she was on a walk in the neighborhood with a juvenile male subject. The subject then pulled a handgun out of the waistband of his pants and pointed it at her. He also told her the gun was stolen.

Deputies learned that the Sheriff’s Office was contacted on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in reference to a report of a stolen firearm. The caller advised that an unknown suspect had broken into his truck, which was parked in front of his residence on Edwards Drive, and stole a firearm.

Detectives executed a search warrant at approximately 1:00 a.m. on August, 8, 2019 at the suspect’s residence on Adrian Way. They located the 14-year-old suspect in the home and found the stolen firearm under his bed.

The suspect was taken into custody. Juvenile Intake was contacted and petitions were submitted for brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a pistol by a juvenile, receipt of a stolen firearm, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
