Stafford, VA. Two juvenile suspects were apprehended on Monday morning by units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after robbing a 7-Eleven.

On May 27, 2019, at approximately 5:46 a.m., units responded to a reported armed robbery at the 7-Eleven located at 25 Solomon Drive. Upon arrival, Deputy Hutcheson reviewed surveillance camera footage that revealed two male subjects enter the store. One subject then pointed a firearm at the clerk while the other held a bag open and motioned toward the cash register. The clerk then opened the cash register drawer and began placing the money inside the bag. Shortly thereafter, the suspects ran out of the store in the direction of Melchers Drive.

Units subsequently began canvassing the area in search of the suspects. Deputy Demirci and K9 Steel were also deployed. Steel tracked to the back of a residence on the 100 block of Warrenton Road. In the meantime, Sergeant Torrance was able to identify one of the suspects from the security video and determined he lived in a residence near where the K9 tracked. A second suspect was also later identified.

Units then responded to the residence and both suspects—a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male—were found inside and taken into custody. A search warrant for the residence was executed and the clothing, bag, fake firearm, and cash from the robbery were discovered inside. The suspects were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and held without bond.
