Stafford Sheriff’s Office Investigating Vandalism Incident

Stafford, VA. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the suspect behind a vandalism incident that occurred at a construction site, causing an estimated $1.2 million in damages.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Deputy Thomas responded to a reported past occurred vandalism of heavy equipment at a construction site on Potomac Creek Drive. Upon arrival, he made contact with the complainant who advised that he found extensive damage to one of the excavators when he arrived at the site that morning.

It appears that the excavator was damaged by another excavator at the site. Orange paint transfer from the damaged excavator was found on the machine. The complainant estimated $1.2 million in damages.

The machine was last seen in good working condition on May 11, 2019. Patrol units have been performing extra checks in the area.
