Stafford Sheriff’s Office Investigating Robbery

Stafford, VA. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the PNC Bank located inside a Giant grocery store in the southern end of the county.

On January 2, 2018, at approximately 1:42 p.m., Deputy Dominguez responded to a holdup alarm at the PNC Bank located at 550 Celebrate Virginia Parkway. An employee informed the Sheriff’s Office that the bank had been robbed by a black male suspect wearing a tan jacket and black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was carrying a black handbag.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the bank teller who told him the suspect approached the counter and pulled out a firearm. The suspect then demanded money and the bank teller complied. The suspect exited the store and drove away in a silver Ford Taurus with a tail light out on the passenger side of the vehicle. A “Be On The Lookout” notification for the suspect and vehicle was sent to law enforcement in the area.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Deputy Torrice located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description in the area of 20 Warrenton Road and the vehicle was seized.

The Sheriff’s Office has identified a person of interest. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (540) 658-4400.
