Traffic Stop in Stafford County Leads to Drug Arrest

Stafford, VA. Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on Saturday after a traffic stop in north Stafford led to the discovery of drugs and drug-related items in the suspect vehicle.

On June 16, 2018, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Deputy W.C. Betush observed a vehicle with a non-working registration light and subsequently initiated a traffic stop in the area of Mine Road and Settlers Way. When approaching the vehicle, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana.

The driver was identified as Tiffany Ann McDaniel, 30, of Sterling and the passenger as Nito Singh Boyd, 29, of Arnold, MD.

Boyd told deputies there was marijuana in the vehicle and McDaniel confirmed his statement. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, controlled substances, and several drug-related items.

McDaniel was issued a summons for detective equipment and possession of marijuana, and was released. Boyd was transported to the Magistrate’s Office and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of controlled paraphernalia. He was held until sober.
