Stafford County Carjacking Suspect Apprehended

Stafford, VA. The suspect behind the carjacking on Interstate 95 in Stafford County on Monday, June 11, 2018 was apprehended this afternoon.

Robert H. Leegrand III, 25, of Woodbridge, was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at approximately 1 p.m. in Prince William County. He is charged with carjacking, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and reckless handling of a firearm. He was also wanted on several charges in other jurisdictions. He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the FBI Northern Virginia Violent Crimes Task Force, Fredericksburg Police Department, and Virginia State Police.
