Stafford, VA. Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested the receptionist of a hotel in Stafford County after she stole a debit card from a patron’s purse and used it to make purchases at a nail salon and convenience store.

On April 22, 2018, Deputy Dylan Aubrecht responded to a call regarding a past occurred larceny at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Jefferson Davis Highway. The father of the juvenile victim explained that he and his daughter stayed at the hotel during a recent trip, and when they returned home, noticed the victim’s brown purse was missing.

The victim’s father called the hotel and was informed by the receptionist that the purse had been located in the victim’s room, but the driver’s license and debit card were missing. They later learned two fraudulent purchases were made using the card including $37.10 at a convenience store and $25 at a nail salon. The victim’s father then cancelled the debit card so no further purchases could be made.

The deputy reviewed the security video footage from the convenience store for the time the suspect made a purchase at the store. The footage provided information on the suspect’s physical appearance including that the suspect was female and had a tattoo on her neck.

When the deputy returned to the hotel, he immediately noted that the receptionist had a tattoo identical to the one from the security video footage. He confirmed with the manager of the hotel that the receptionist was the same woman depicted in the photo taken from the security video footage.

The suspect was identified as Joseline Adrianna Blanco, 28, of Spotsylvania. During an interview with the deputy, Blanco admitted to stealing the debit card and making the fraudulent purchases.

The suspect was taken into custody and later released on bond. She is charged with credit card theft and petit larceny.
