Stafford, VA. Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on Friday on drug charges following an overdose in a vehicle parked outside of Taco Bell on Garrisonville Road.

On April 6, 2018, Deputy L.A. Burgess responded to a call regarding an unresponsive male in a vehicle at Taco Bell. Upon arrival, the deputy located the suspect in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the drive-thru of the restaurant. There was a needle in the suspect’s right hand and the vehicle was still in drive.

The deputy placed the vehicle in park and removed the needle from the suspect’s hand. The deputy then revived the suspect using Narcan. When the suspect awoke, he told the deputy there was heroin in the vehicle and he had used it within the past 30 minutes.

The suspect, identified as Brian Tyler Edwards, 26, of Stafford, was evaluated by rescue on scene and subsequently transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail. He was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of controlled paraphernalia.
