Stafford, VA. An assist rescue call at a motel in Stafford County on Monday led to the arrest of a woman wanted on felony drug charges.

On November 6, 2017 at approximately 8:03 a.m., deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at the Red Roof Inn on Warrenton Road. When deputies arrived, rescue personnel were placing a man in an ambulance. He was administered Narcan and transported to Mary Washington Hospital.

The deputies spoke with the caller who identified herself as Kelsie Lynn Helton and the man in the ambulance as her boyfriend. She explained that around 12:30 a.m. she discovered her boyfriend unresponsive in their motel room. She administered CPR and told deputies he seemed “fine” afterwards.

That morning, her boyfriend collapsed on the floor, complaining of chest pain. She said he uses heroin, but she hadn’t seen him using it.

One of Helton’s family members arrived on scene and advised that Helton had given the deputies her sister’s identifying information. Her real name was “Kalynn Helton,” age 20. Deputies later learned Helton was wanted out of Stafford County and Fredericksburg on felony drug charges.

During the investigation, Helton produced evidence of heroin usage. Deputies also discovered the flat screen television and door jam in the motel room had been damaged. Helton said her boyfriend punched the television, which caused the damage.

Helton was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia, identity theft, false identity to law enforcement and vandalism. She is incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
