Dispute Leads to Weapons Charges |

On Sunday September 3, 2017 at 9:42 AM, Stafford County Deputies were dispatched to Surry Lane for a fight call with shots fired. The caller advised that two males had been fighting and one had subsequently fired a shot from a handgun. One subject left the scene on a bicycle and the other in a small gold vehicle. A description of both subjects was given. When deputies arrived on the scene, all was calm. In speaking with witnesses, they learned that a resident of the neighborhood and a subject by the name of Antawan Sampson were fighting out front of the townhouses. After the fight stopped, Antawan pulled out a gun and fired a shot into the ground. Deputies found a .40 caliber shell casing in a grassy area and a bullet fragment was located in the parking lot. Antawan Sampson, forty-three years old from South Stafford was charged with Brandishing, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in Public and Shooting in a No Shoot Zone. He was held on a $1000.00 bond. |
