Multiple work zones will require double lane closures beginning tonight, July 31 through Saturday, August 5
FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists should anticipate overnight travel delays on Interstate 95 northbound and southbound as multiple work zones continue in Stafford and Spotsylvania counties.

The following lane closures are planned for tonight, July 31 through early Saturday, August 5, weather permitting:
I-95 Northbound near Exit 143 in Stafford County

Monday, July 31 and Tuesday, August 1
• Single lane closure at 9 p.m. near Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville)
• Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
• All lanes open by 4:30 a.m.

Crews will be working on the overhead signs as part of the I-95 Express Lanes Southern Terminus Extension project.
I-95 Northbound and Southbound at Ni River Bridge in Spotsylvania County

Monday, July 31 ˗˗ Friday, August 3 (ending at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5)
• Single lane closure at 9 p.m. at mile marker 121 (Ni River bridge) south of Exit 126 (Route 1/Massaponax)
• Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
• All lanes open by 4:30 a.m.

Repairs will continue to the I-95 northbound and southbound bridges over the Ni River, which are among six interstate bridges being rehabilitated in the Fredericksburg area through fall 2018.

Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control in both work zones.
Message boards will warn travelers to stay alert for work zones ahead and possible delays.
