Two Reports of Shots Fired at Vehicles Along Kings Highway

July 26, 2017

On July 25th at approximately 6:00 p.m. a driver reported that while stopped at a traffic light on Kings Highway in front of the Walmart, the windshield of their vehicle had been shot. Sheriff’s deputies were able to find a mark on the windshield of the vehicle but nothing had penetrated the windshield.

On July 26th at approximately 10:45 a.m. another driver who was also headed west on Kings Highway in the area of Little Street and Carol Street, reported hearing what they referred to as a “loud boom.” Deputies found two marks on the windshield of this vehicle but again, nothing penetrated the windshield.

It appears that the damage to these windshields may have been caused by a either a pellet gun or rocks being thrown. These incidents remain under investigation.
