The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a phone call which was received by Park Ridge Elementary School at approximately 12:05 PM today. Due to the nature of the conversation law enforcement was immediately contacted and the elementary school was placed on lockdown. The nearby North Stafford High School was also locked down due to the proximity of its location to Park Ridge.

The caller hung up the phone shortly before law enforcement arrived at the school. The interior of the elementary school was searched and secured. The perimeters of both schools were searched however no suspects were located. Once it was determined that everyone was safe and no threat existed both school lockdowns were lifted.

Schools are partially or fully locked down when there is police activity in the area or any threat to the safety of the students. Today’s incident reminds the public to stay vigilant and report all suspicious activity.
