On June 4, 2017, at approximately 11:45 PM, Deputy J.A. Mangan was observing traffic at the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Skywood Court. He observed a maroon Chevrolet pickup truck pass his patrol car and saw the right rear tire drop off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle recovered and continued its path of travel. As Deputy Mangan pulled behind the vehicle the truck accelerated rapidly, turned quickly into a neighborhood and then a driveway. The driver immediately extinguished the truck’s headlights. The Deputy drove passed the driveway and out of sight. He turned around and waited. One minute later the driver exited the driveway, and Deputy Mangan initiated a traffic stop in the area of Garrisonville Road and Longwood Drive.

During the stop, the driver stated that his license was suspended. He was identified as David Jackson by his Virginia Identification Card. Mr. Jackson was also wanted out of Spotsylvania County for Grand Larceny.

David Jackson, age 50 of Fritters Lane in Stafford, VA., was charged with Driving While Suspended and Reckless Driving. Mr. Jackson was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on no bond.
