On May 17, 2017, at approximately 10:56 PM, Deputy C.L. Smith responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Vista Woods Road. The deputy was familiar with one of the involved parties, Michael Nageotte, and knew him to be currently wanted for failure to appear in Stafford Court. Deputy S.B. Sparry also responded to the residence.

Upon arrival, deputies were advised that the subject causing the disturbance was upstairs. As they made their way, they observed three fist-size holes in the bathroom door. They found Mr. Nageotte with a bloody hand, sitting in an upstairs bedroom surrounded by a clutter of broken items. Deputy Smith advised Mr. Nageotte that he was under arrest and commanded him to stand. Mr. Nageotte, who was smoking a cigarette, became verbally abusive and flicked his lit cigarette at the deputies. He was subsequently arrested while his torrent of profanities continued.
