On April 8, 2017, at approximately 12:25 AM, Deputy K.J. Simpson and Deputy W.C. Betush responded to a domestic dispute on Cynthias Place. The deputies approached the residence and knocked on the apartment door. A male subject calmly answered the door, took two steps toward Deputy Simpson and punched him in the face with a closed fist.

Deputy Betush attempted to arrest the subject who resisted. Deputy Simpson successfully deployed his Taser and the subject was subdued and taken into custody. The subject declined medical attention. Deputy Simpson was evaluated and released by medical personnel.

Adrian Blue Dameron, age 28 of Cynthias Place in Stafford, VA, was charged with Assault and Battery of a Police Officer, Assault and Battery of a Family Member and Obstructing Justice. He was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail and held on no bond.
