Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports an armed robbery took place in the Stafford Mews area of Stafford County on the evening of March 4, 2010 at approximately 8:00 pm. The victim in this incident was walking home from the store when he was confronted by 2 - 4 black males. The victim got into a struggle with one the suspects and was shot in the shoulder area. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for his injury.
The victim reported to responding deputies that he was walking home from the store at approximately 8:00 pm last night, in the area of the 400 – 500 block of Stafford Mews Court, when he was confronted by 2 black males, age late teens to early 20's. The victim stated that one of the suspects had a blue bandana covering his face. That suspect displayed a gun, demanded money and then fired a shot into the air. The same suspect reached into the victim's pocket and took some money. At that point a struggle ensued with the victim fighting the suspect who was carrying the gun. The victim was shot during the struggle. The suspect then fled with the second suspect who was possibly accompanied by two additional black male associates. The vehicle that was driven from the scene may be a dark colored, late model, mid size American car described as possibly a maroon or dark navy blue Buick Century or Pontiac.
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is investigating the possibility that this armed robbery may be related to two previous armed robberies. These robberies took place on Hedgeapple Court on February 20, 2010 and on Providence Street on February 2, 2010. At the Hedgeapple incident 2 young black males robbed the victim of her purse while she and a friend were standing on their porch. One of the suspects displayed a hand gun. At the Providence Street incident 2 young black males tried to force a woman into her car but finally left the scene with the victim's purse. In this incident one of the suspects displayed a hand gun.
"These individuals need to be stopped," states Sheriff Charles E. Jett. "The crimes they have committed are very serious and every effort is being made by numerous members of the Sheriff's Office to ensure that these suspects are caught."
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is asking that if anyone has any information on any of these three armed robberies to call the Stafford County Sheriff's Office at 540-658-4400.
