Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the owner of a dog who attacked and killed citizen's dog in Stafford.
On Tuesday, January 26, a male resident of Stafford County was walking his dog in the area of Hulls Chapel Road and Stacy Lane in central Stafford when the dog he was walking was attacked by a stray hound dog. The man tried to protect his dog when he himself was bitten by the dog. The victim's dog was killed and the man was transported to hospital as a result of injuries that he suffered during the incident. The man is now recovering at home.
The dog responsible for the attack was caught by Animal Control Officers. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is trying to locate the owner of the stray hound dog and is requesting that the owner of the dog contact the Stafford County Animal Control Office at 658-7387 or the Stafford County Sheriff's Office at 540-658-4400. If anyone knows who the owner of the dog is they are also asked to contact the Stafford County Animal Control Office or the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
