On February 2, 2017 at approximately 11:50 a.m. a resident of Wren Way Court reported an attempted Breaking and Entering of her home. She advised her doorbell rang and she observed a young male subject with a backpack and long dark hair at the front door. She did not answer the door because she did not know the male. In approximately five minutes she was near the back door of her residence when she observed subjects attempting to gain entrance. One was wearing a mask. When the subjects saw her they fled through the backyard and jumped over a fence. She then notified the Sheriff’s Office.

Patrol units were provided the description of the males and while en route to the incident, Deputy J.C. Miller and Deputy S.P Whitt observed three subjects on Hampton Park Boulevard matching the descriptions provided by the caller. The subjects were detained and searched. Multiple bags of .38 hollow point bullets were found on their persons. It was later determined that the ammunition had been stolen from a porch of another residence nearby.

All three suspects were identified as juveniles. Two were seventeen-years-old and one was fifteen.
Multiple charges were filed with Juvenile Court Services including Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit a Felony, Conspiracy, Petit Larceny, Conspiring to Trespass and Wearing a Mask in Public.

Two of the juveniles were detained at the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center. The third was released to the custody of his parents.
