June 17, 2016

The Stafford Sheriff’s Office answered two Breaking and Entering calls this week at the local offices of Aggregate Industries on Warrenton Road. The first call was answered on June 13 at approximately 5:45 a.m. and the other on the following morning at approximately 6:00 a.m.

Significant damage was done in the office building as well as to the company vehicles, including cement mixers. The perpetrator(s) entered nearly every office in the building and destroyed computers, broke glass, discharged fire extinguishers and caused damage to walls and doors. All of the vehicle keys were stolen and the cement mixers were used to play “bumper cars” according to a deputy on the scene.

Master Detective E.L. McCullough, is the lead investigator on the case. McCullough stated that there have been several reports of vandalism in the Olde Forge/Warrenton Road area of Stafford in recent days. McCullough stated that the company had to close for a day and lost thousands of dollars in revenue. The associated cleanup costs is estimated at $12,000. A complete tabulation of all damage is being compiled by the company.

If anyone has information on this large-scale corporate vandalism, please contact the Sheriff’s Office. 540-658-4400.
