Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Chancellor Tolliver, age 20, of 150 Onville Rd Apt. #204 in Stafford County for 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Tolliver’s charges stem from the earlier reported homicide that occurred this morning in Garrison Woods.

Sheriff’s Office Units responded this morning, February 7, 2016 at approximately 4:48 am to the Garrison Woods Apartment Complex. Stafford Deputies were dispatched to the area of 202 Garrison Woods Drive for a male subject who was shot during an altercation. Deputies arrived on scene to find the male unresponsive. Rescue personnel attempted life saving measures; however the victim died on the way to the hospital.

The victim has been identified as Maurice Williams Scott, age 33, of Stafford County.

Chancellor Tolliver was taken into custody this evening without incident after turning himself into authorities in Stafford County. Tolliver is currently being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

No further information will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
