Motorists can expect northbound, southbound I-95 delays for
paving, bridge construction

FREDERICKSBURG – Several nighttime work zones will be active on northbound and southbound Interstate 95 this week in the Fredericksburg area.

I-95 travelers are advised to use Route 1 or Route 301 to avoid delays. Message boards on I-95 will provide advance notice of lane closures and detour routes.

Crews are paving the interstate at several locations, and bridge construction is underway on a new overpass at Fall Hill Avenue.

Lanes will be closed at the following dates, times, and locations, weather permitting:

Monday, Sept. 14

• Northbound I-95: Paving will be underway between Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) and Exit 140 (Stafford/Route 630) in Stafford County. Single lane closure starts at 9 p.m. Double lane closure 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Northbound I-95: Bridge construction is underway at mile marker 131-132, just north of Exit 130 (Route 3) at Fredericksburg. Single lane closure starts at 9 p.m. Double lane closure 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Southbound I-95: Paving will be underway between Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania County. Single lane closure starts at 9 p.m. Double lane closure 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 15

• Northbound I-95: Paving will be underway between Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) and Exit 140 (Stafford/Route 630) in Stafford County. Single lane closure starts at 9 p.m. Double lane closure 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Northbound I-95: Bridge construction is underway at mile marker 131-132, just north of Exit 130 (Route 3) at Fredericksburg. Single lane closure starts at 9 p.m. Double lane closure 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Southbound I-95: Paving will be underway between Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Thornburg) in Spotsylvania County. Single lane closure starts at 9 p.m. Double lane closure 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 16
