Stafford County

Route 17 at I-95
(New) Monday – Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on the northbound side of Route 17 in the vicinity of the I-95 interchange. At the same time, the shoulder will be closed on the southbound side of Route 17. Crews will be performing routine maintenance in this area.

Route 1 at Truslow Road
(Update) Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; left turns from Truslow Road onto Route 1 north will be prohibited each day between from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for new turn lane construction.

Routine Maintenance Activities
(Update) Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Crews will be performing routine maintenance that may cause brief travel delays at the following locations:

• Route 1 – sweeping
• Route 610 – sweeping
• Route 629 (Andrew Chapel Road) – mowing
• Route 611 (Widewater Road) – mowing
• Route 608 (Brooke Road) – mowing
• Route 633 (Arkendale Road) – mowing
• Route 621 (Marlborough Point Road) – mowing

City of Fredericksburg


Fall Hill Avenue
Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; traffic will be reduced to a single lane intermittently for tree removal and brush clearing. Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers. Expect brief delays when stops are needed. Work is expected to continue Monday through Friday through July 10. No lane closures will take place on Friday, July 3.


Spotsylvania County

Interstate 95 North
(Update) Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.; milling and paving work continues on I-95 north between Exit 126 (Route 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 130 (Route 3/Fredericksburg). Motorists should expect single or double lane closures and travel delays in the work zone.

Holleybrooke Subdivision
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.; crews continue paving and working along the shoulder on various streets located in the Holleybrooke subdivision. Motorists should expect brief delays in the work zone.

Bloomsbury Subdivision
(New) Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.; crews will be milling on various streets located in the Bloomsbury subdivision. Motorists should expect brief delays and a rough driving surface in the work zone.

Route 1 at Route 208 (Four-Mile Fork)
(New) On Sunday, July 12 the traffic signals located at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 208 (Lafayette Blvd/Courthouse Road) at Four-Mile Fork will be out of service. Crews will be modifying the traffic signals at the intersection. Virginia State Police Traffic will maintain traffic while the signals are out of service. The intersection will remain open in all directions.

• Route 3 (Plank Road) – sweeping (Sunday – Thursday, 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.)

• Route 658 (Jericho Road) – mowing

King George County

Route 218
(Update) Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; tree trimming work continues on the eastbound side of Route 218 motorists should expect brief delays between Route 696 (Fairview Drive) and Route 1040 (Potomac Landing Drive).

Traffic Signal Work near Dahlgren Naval Base
(New) Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.; crews will be performing traffic signal work at the following locations:
• Route 301 between Route 218 and Owens Drive
• Route 206 at Route 614

All travel lanes will remain open.

(Update) Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Crews will be performing routine maintenance that may cause brief travel delays at the following locations:

• Route 301 – shoulder work between Route 616 and Route 218
• Route 3 – mowing and ditch work

• Route 611 – brush cutting
• Route 610 - brush cutting

Westmoreland County

Routine Maintenance Activities
(New) Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Crews will be performing routine maintenance that may cause brief travel delays at the following locations:

• Westmoreland Shores – pothole patching at various locations
• Route 637 (Leedstown Road) – ditch work
• Route 610 – brush cutting

Fredericksburg

Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement Project
Construction is underway on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays on Fall Hill Avenue between the Rappahannock Canal Bridge and Carl D. Silver Boulevard. The project is expected to be complete in January 2017.

Spotsylvania County

Route 17/Benchmark Road/Crossroads Parkway
Motorists should expect lane closures and brief traffic stops on Route 17 at Benchmark Road and Crossroads Parkway, located just east of the CSX railroad tracks and west of Jim Morris Road. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. This work is related to construction of a new Virginia Railway Express train station and parking lot. This project is being administered by Spotsylvania County.

Stafford County

Route 17
Construction is underway to widen Route 17 from four to six lanes between McLane Drive and Stafford Lakes Parkway, a distance of nearly 2 miles. The work zone extends from just south of the I-95 interchange to Cardinal Forest Drive. Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic pattern and periodic overnight lane closures. Project completion date is December 2016.

Falmouth Intersection (Route 1/Route 17 Business/Route 218)
Construction is underway. Motorists should be prepared for brief delays and periodic lane closures on Butler Road and Route 1 just north and south of the Falmouth intersection. Project completion date is September 2015.

King George

Route 218 at Machodoc Creek
Construction is underway on the Machodoc Creek bridge replacement project. Traffic on the bridge has been reduced to one lane. Temporary traffic signals at each approach to the bridge control traffic crossing the bridge. The signals will remain in place through July 2015. Motorists can expect an additional 5-10 minutes to cross the bridge during peak travel times on weekday mornings and afternoons. In addition, a 10 foot lane width restriction for vehicles is in place.
