VDOT crews patched damage pipe until more extensive repairs can be made

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has made temporary repairs to the damaged drainage pipe located on Route 1 north just north of Route 624 (Layhill Road) in Stafford County.

The temporary repairs will allow VDOT to reopen the right lane in time for the evening rush hour.

VDOT will monitor the site until a contractor can be secured to make more permanent repairs to the drainage pipe. This work is expected to take place next week.

The right lane will be open to traffic in time for the evening rush hour.
