REMINDER: BRIEF CLOSURES AT FALMOUTH INTERSECTION ON SUNDAY, DEC. 29 Daytime closures between 7-9 a.m. required for worker safety
FREDERICKSBURG – The intersection of Route 1, Route 17 Business, and Route 218 (Butler Road) in Stafford County will intermittently close to traffic for 5-minute intervals between 7-9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29.
Utility providers are relocating utility lines for the upcoming widening of the intersection. The work scheduled to occur on Dec. 29 must be performed during daylight hours for worker safety.
Access to Carter Street, Forbes Street and Washington Street will remain open.
Construction will begin on the Falmouth Intersection Improvement Project in early 2014, and will conclude by September 2015. New turn lanes and through lanes will be built to advance more traffic through the intersection on each signal cycle, reducing motorist delay.
