SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER PURSUIT

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of two individuals involved in a pursuit with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office while in possession of a stolen vehicle. A third suspect is still wanted in connection with the incident. Arrested is Ceante Briana Barkley, age 19, of Constitution Hwy., Rapidan, Virginia and Dorian Ward, age 26 of N.W., Washington, D.C. Ceante Barkley is currently charged with 1 Count of Conspiracy to Receive or Possess a Stolen Vehicle. Dorian Ward is charged with 1 Count of Larceny and 1 Count of Larceny with Intent to Sell.

Deputy Alex Smith responded to a report of a potential stolen vehicle at the East Coast Gas Station on Warrenton Road in Stafford. The citizen who called in the report told Deputy Smith that she had arranged to meet an individual to purchase a car after responding to an ad on Craig's List. When the citizen checked the VIN number of the car that was being sold with the National Insurance Crime Bureau it came back stolen. The citizen immediately backed out of the deal and contacted the Sheriff's Office, giving the Sheriff's Office a description of the vehicle and the three suspects.

Deputy Smith located the suspects and the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Country Inn & Suites on Warrenton Road. Deputy Smith had the vehicle stopped when the suspects started the car and sped out of the parking lot. The suspects vehicle then travelled north on Rt. 17 (Warrenton Road) at a high rate of speed with several Sheriff's Office deputies in pursuit. Members of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office joined in the pursuit as the suspects entered Fauquier County. A Fauquier County deputy placed a STINGER strip on the road flattening one of the tires on the suspect's vehicle. The suspects stopped the stolen vehicle in the area of the Hugo's Skating Rink at 12099 Marsh Road in Fauquier and two of the suspects fled on foot. Ceante Barkley was taken into custody at the scene while Dorian Ward was taken into custody by members of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police this morning in a field in the vicinity of Hugo's Skating Rink at approximately 7:00 am.

The third suspect still being sought is described as a black male, 5'8-5'9 with a slim build wearing a red shirt and tan shorts. This is an ongoing investigation

The Stafford County Sheriff's Office notes with appreciation the assistance of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office and the Virginia State Police.
