Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office reports that the body found in the Rappahannock River yesterday, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 has been identified. The remains are that of Jose Hernandez, age 56 of Fredericksburg.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at approximately 3:00pm two citizens who were walking along the bank of the Rappahannock River in the vicinity of Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg spotted the body of Mr. Hernandez floating in the area where they were walking. The two people pulled the body to the shore and immediately called 9-1-1. Stafford detectives arrived on scene shortly there after. The remains of Mr. Hernandez have been taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond to determine the cause of death. Mr. Hernandez was last seen by family members last Thursday, July 4.
