OVERNIGHT ROAD WORK ON BUTLER ROAD
Westbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane Tuesday night, early Wednesday morning

FREDERICKSBURG – Westbound Route 218 (Butler Road) in Stafford County will be narrowed to a single travel lane at the Falmouth intersection overnight on Tuesday, July 9.

The lane will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 3 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, for utility relocation work between Route 1 and Carter Street.

Utility lines are being moved underground at the intersection of Route 1, Route 17 Business and Route 218 prior to construction starting on the Falmouth Intersection Improvement Project in early 2014. The project will be advertised for construction in November 2013. New turn lanes and through lanes will be built to advance more traffic through the intersection on each signal cycle, reducing motorist delay.
