MAN CHARGED WITH INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER
On Thursday, May 30th at approximately 10:40 pm, multiple units from the Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Malvern Hill Court for a medical emergency. Sheriff's deputies found Kwesi Franklin being tended to by Rescue personnel. Mr. Franklin was suffering from an apparent head wound and was unresponsive. A gathering crowd of onlookers were unable to provide deputies with any information. Mr. Franklin was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Due to the unknown nature of the Mr. Franklin's name and the serious nature of his injury, Detective Tim Covington responded to the hospital to initiate an investigation. Covington's preliminary investigation confirmed Franklin's identity and located his family who told him that Kwesi Franklin had left his home that night to go skateboarding. Over this past weekend Detective Michelle Gibbons continued with the investigation and discovered that the injuries Kwesi Franklin had received were the result of an assault that had occurred. It is alleged that Logan Dalgarn had assaulted Franklin during an altercation, causing a severe head injury. Kwesi Franklin died June 1st as a result of those injuries. Detective Covington obtained a warrant for the arrest of Logan Dalgarn on Tuesday June 4th. Mr. Dalgarn turned himself in at the Sheriff's Office the evening of June 4th.
