DOMESTIC SHOOTING REPORTED

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is reporting a domestic related shooting at 59 Alderwood Drive in Stafford County. The incident occurred on Friday, April 19, 2013.

At approximately 2:42 pm, Friday, April 19, 2013, multiple units from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office responded to 59 Alderwood Drive in Stafford County for a report of a domestic call involving a shooting. The shooting was between the husband and his estranged wife. When deputies arrived on scene they found a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The female was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. The body of the female has been taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond for the official determination of the cause of death.

No charges have been filed at this point but Stafford Detectives are actively investigating the incident. Due to the ongoing investigation no additional information will be provided.
