CITIZEN'S ASSISTANCE REQUESTED
Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in helping to identify the individual or individuals responsible for the recent break-ins at three Stafford County Churches. The most recent breaking and entering occurred at Ebenezer United Methodist Church located at 161 Embrey Mill Road in Stafford sometime between 2:00 am and 7:30 am Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
Deputies first responded the North Stafford Church of Christ, located on Shelton Shop Road on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 for a report of a breaking and entering. The unknown suspect or suspects are believed to have entered the church through and unsecured door. Items stolen include a flat screen television, a monitor and an undisclosed amount of cash. The thefts are believed to have occurred sometime between January 1-3.
Deputies responded to the second incident at Ramoth Baptist Church, located on Ramoth Church Road, on Tuesday, January 4, 2012. The unknown suspect or suspects are believed to have forced open a window to gain entrance to the church. Items stolen during this incident include 4 flat screen televisions, four computers and a camera. These thefts are believed to have occurred sometime between the evening hours of January 3 and the early morning hours of January 4.
Ebenezer United Methodist Church was broken into sometime between the hours of 2:00 am – 7:30 am this morning, Tuesday, January 10, 2012. The unknown suspect or suspects broke a window and an interior door to gain entrance into the church and then stole a safe that contained an undisclosed amount of gift cards.
"We are aggressively investigating these incidents," states Sheriff Charles Jett. "I am asking that if any citizen has any information that may help to identify the individual or individuals responsible for these senseless acts to contact the Sheriff's Office immediately."
