On March 31, 2017, at approximately 9:01 PM, Deputy A. I. Assur was patrolling near the Valero located at 620 Cambridge Street when he observed a van backed into a parking space at the rear of the business. As Deputy Assur approached the van, he observed that it was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger. Deputy Assur noticed the male driver was making furtive movements toward the floorboard of the vehicle. The male driver and the female passenger were identified, and a four-year-old male juvenile was also observed on the backseat of the van. Deputy Assur asked the male and female if they had anything illegal in their van or on their person to which they stated, “no.” The male and female then agreed to a consent search of the van. Upon searching the van, Deputy Assur looked under a sweatshirt, found on the passenger’s seat, and discovered two “loaded,” uncapped syringes. The female subject acknowledged that the syringes contained heroin. A family member responded and took custody of the child. Jessica Ann Greene, age 32 and Robert Lee Jett, Jr, age 34; both of Tetotum Road in King George, VA, were charged with Child Endangerment, Possession of Controlled Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substances. They were incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1500 secured bond. |
